About
Born and raised in San Francisco, Andrew Veerathanongdech grew up with the values of hard work, humility, and perseverance instilled by his Thai mother. A lifelong athlete, he was one of Marin County’s top tennis players and a three-time county wrestling champion before earning athletic scholarships to the U.S. Air Force Academy. His journey from competitive athlete to decorated pilot has been driven by a simple philosophy—be a good person, and be good at what you do. Over the years, Andrew’s career has taken him from the cockpit of the KC-10 to leadership roles training and evaluating pilots at the highest levels. Today, he brings that same discipline and positivity to his role as First Officer at Air Transport International, where precision and teamwork are critical. Outside of aviation, Andrew’s greatest joy comes from family. He lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his wife and young daughter—his “best friend,” as he calls her. Together, they spend summers on the Jersey Shore and winters in California, where Andrew enjoys snowboarding, surfing, and anything involving a board—whether on water, snow, or pavement. A firm believer in balance, Andrew prioritizes family first, knowing that success at home fuels excellence everywhere else.
